Stay up to Date and in Compliance

red checkmark iconStudent Vaccinations

Attendance in TK-12 public, as well as private schools in California, requires that both elementary students and secondary students receive certain vaccines by law. In order to stay up to date and in compliance with this statewide immunization mandate, schools, and districts must keep records of the vaccination status of each student and provide proper reports to state agencies. These Student Vaccinations are officially required per the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):

  • Measles, rubella, and mumps — Two doses (Each must be received on or after the child’s first birthday)
  • Two doses for the varicella (AKA chickenpox)
  • Three doses of hepatitis B
  • Four doses of polio vaccine (OPV or IPV)
  • Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap, or Td) — Five doses (there are some exceptions in specific cases)

Veritas Healthcare can also handle your participation in the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Programs Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP). Talk to us for more information!

Sports Physicals

Ensuring the safety of students engaging in sports and physical activities is of utmost importance in order to protect both the short-term and long-term health of our children. Our sports physical examinations evaluate students' physical fitness levels and detect any potential underlying health issues, playing a crucial role in injury prevention and the encouragement of an active way of life.

Vision and Hearing Screening

Hearing and vision are crucial to learning, and the first sign of an issue in many children is often discovered at school. Our experienced and professional healthcare team can perform comprehensive assessments of both hearing and vision, pinpointing possible concerns and suggesting suitable interventions to ensure optimal care and continued learning. Prompt identification of hearing and vision problems is critically important for a student's success academically.

Other Student Health Services

red checkmark iconComprehensive Health Examinations

Filling in the gaps for schools and families can make all the difference in a child's health and in their education experience. There are specific health concerns that can greatly affect a child or adolescent student's ability to learn and focus in the classroom. Some of these are more common in childhood, and it's important to be screened. Other student health services we can offer include:

Lead Testing

Exposure to lead can do serious damage to a child's developing body and brain, but a simple screening can determine whether there is cause for concern.

Anemia Testing

Anemia is another issue that can occur in childhood but is easily assessed via screenings followed by potential treatment intervention.

Tuberculosis Testing

For students who travel internationally or whose family members travel, regular TB tests may be an option to keep children, families, and campuses safe.

Physical Exams

We also offer some general physical exams depending on the circumstances or needs of the campus.
